Veera Välimäki

Minä, kuten monet muut neulojat pidämme Veera Välimäen töistä. Hänet löytää omalta nettisivultaan Rain knitwear sekä Ravelrystä. Hän julkaisi juuri kirjan, Lankaleikki. Toivottavasti Joulupukki kuulee toiveeni. Pidän hänen mutkattomasta tyylistään ja yksinkertaisista malleistaan. Hänen ohjeensa, vaikka ovatkin englanniksi, ovat helppoja seurata. Samaten valtaosa hänen vaatteistaan neulotaan yhtenä kappaleena, mikä helpottaa viimeistelyprosessia. 

Tähän mennessä olen neulonut kahdeksan hänen malleistaan, Twenty ten, Pop block, Different lines, Stripe study, Happy solitude, Shadow, Comfort cardigan ja Gathering stripes. Olen juuri kutomassa toista Stripe studyä ja jo aikaisemmin aloittamani Still light odottelee puikoille pääsyä. Se on valmistumassa Dropsin Alpacasta, enkä malta odottaa sen käyttämistä.

I, like many other knitters love Veera Välimäki's work. She is on Ravelry and she has a website. She also just published a book, Lankaleikki. I really love her simple style not to mention her easy-to-follow patterns that are knit in one piece, as in no seams to sew!

So far I've knit her Twenty ten, Pop block, Different lines, Stripe study, Happy solitude, Shadow, Comfort cardigan and Gathering stripes. I'm in the middle of another Stripe study shawl and next on my list is Still light tunic. Actually I've already started it, made it too big and unraveled it. I'm knitting it from light gray Drops Alpaca and can't wait to wear it.

Tässä Gathering stripes, jonka tein parhaalle ystävälleni. Paidan oli tarkoitus valmistua jo vii me jouluksi, mutta kudottuani ensiksi liian suuren paidan, menetin intoni hetkeksi. Onneksi se vihdoin valmistui ja oli mieluinen.

Here is the Gathering stripes I made for my best friend. it was supposed to be a christmas present last year, but after first knitting a sweater a couple of sizes too big I kind of lost my mojo. But now it's finally finished and she loved it. 

Siinä  missä Gathering stipes vei melkein vuoden valmistua, Comfort cardiganissa meni vain viikko. Tämä taitaa myös olla hieman iso, mutta toimii silti. 

Where the gathering stripes too me almost a year to knit (not knitting all the time obviously), the Comfort cardigan only took me a week. I might have made this one too big also, but it still works. And I love it.
